Nick Hooper

Nick embarked on a professional journey with the specialized teams at Wagners, focusing on medical malpractice and class actions. His legal acumen is primarily directed towards aiding individuals who have suffered due to medical negligence. Additionally, his advocacy extends to representing clients in various class action lawsuits. These cases cover a broad spectrum, including disputes related to pharmaceuticals, errors in pathology, issues of product liability, malfunctioning medical devices, cases of institutional abuse, and environmental pollution.

Hailing from Saint John, NB, Nick's academic journey in law began at the Schulich School of Law at Dalhousie University, where he graduated in 2017. His academic excellence is highlighted by his consistent presence on the Dean's List and winning the Clifford Rae Achievement Award consecutively from 2015 to 2017. He excelled in specific legal disciplines, securing the highest grades in contract law, jurisprudence, and health law. His scholarly excellence was further recognized with the JSD Tory Writing Award for his outstanding paper in the 2017 academic year. Nick's contribution to legal scholarship includes several peer-reviewed articles, notably a paper published by the Cambridge University Press, which gained recognition in a leading legal textbook.

Nick's academic pursuits continued with a Masters of Law at the Schulich School of Law, where he was honored with a full scholarship and the George C. Thompson Fellowship in Law. During this period, he enriched his practical legal experience by clerking for the Supreme Court of Nova Scotia and participating in the Smith Shield, the school's most esteemed moot court competition.

Completing his articles with Wagners, Nick was officially called to the Bar in Nova Scotia in June 2019. Before delving into the world of law, Nick had achieved a Bachelor of Arts in English, a discipline that likely nurtures his passion for reading. Outside the legal realm, he engages in running and is a dedicated baseball enthusiast.
