5 out of 5 stars

I had the pleasure of working with Kim Johnson during one of the most challenging periods of my life - going through a tough divorce that involved custody issues and splitting of assets. From the first meeting at her office, which is conveniently located near the Public Gardens in Halifax, Kim made me feel at ease. She has this way of explaining legal terms in plain English, making the daunting legal processes seem much more manageable.

What really impressed me about Kim was her dedication to finding a solution that worked best for my family and me. She's not just about winning cases; she's about finding the right solution. When we were dealing with the division of our family business and our home in Bedford, she showed incredible insight and expertise, offering options I hadn't even considered.

I also really appreciated that Kim tried her best to keep us out of the courtroom. She's a big advocate for mediation and collaborative law, which was evident in the way she handled my case. We ended up settling most of our issues through mediation sessions she arranged in Dartmouth, which saved us a lot of time, money, and stress.

However, when we had to go to court for a few unresolved matters, Kim was a powerhouse. Her confidence and knowledge in the courtroom, especially at the Supreme Court (Family Division) in Halifax, were impressive. It was clear she's experienced and respected in the legal community.

Her expertise lies in dissecting and reconstructing the notion of “family” for those grappling with its transformation.

In her practice, Kim addresses a spectrum of family law matters, ranging from the drafting of simple Wills and Agreements to navigating the complexities of contentious divorces with intertwined business assets, pensions, and high-conflict personalities.
