In 2020, Avram Spatz found himself at a crossroads in his career as an associate with a specialized litigation firm in Toronto. Entrepreneurial aspirations were a common thread in his family, evidenced by his brother Josh, who co-managed North of Brooklyn Pizzeria in Toronto, and his grandfather, a Holocaust survivor who established the real estate firm Southwest Properties. The shift to remote work during the pandemic led to Spatz feeling a growing desire for a venture that was both imaginative and hands-on. Consequently, in January 2021, he decided to leave his demanding legal position to explore new opportunities. Passionate about both gastronomy and aesthetics, Spatz devoted his free time to collecting and refurbishing mid-century modern artifacts, as well as rejuvenating teak furniture, adding a unique charm to his loft in the city center.
