Samah Rahman

Samah's academic journey began with an Honors Bachelor of Arts from the University of Toronto, continued with a Master's degree from the University of Waterloo, and culminated in a Juris Doctor from the University of Ottawa. Her adventurous spirit took her and her young family on a five-week backpacking journey across Europe, an experience that mirrors her zest for life and learning. As a member of the Canadian Muslim Lawyers Association, she not only represents her profession but also her community with pride. Samah's passions extend beyond the courtroom to the great outdoors, where she enjoys hiking through various terrains and weather, exploring local farmer’s markets, and immersing herself in the melodies of old Bollywood songs on her harmonium.

For Samah, family stands above all. This principle deeply influences her approach to legal practice, especially when navigating her clients through significant life changes. With a keen awareness of the emotional and practical stakes, she dedicates herself to understanding each client's unique situation, rights, and responsibilities. Her commitment to providing sensitive, understanding, and results-driven guidance aims to alleviate the stress of legal proceedings, making herself readily available and straightforward with her clients.

Samah's prowess in negotiation and litigation has led to successful outcomes in motions, favorable settlements, and cost awards, particularly in matters of parenting and property division. Her expertise also extends to navigating cases with religious considerations, such as those involving Islamic Marriage Contracts.

Samah's exceptional negotiation skills have not gone unnoticed, earning her accolades such as winning the BLG Family Law Negotiation competition and securing the 2nd place as the Top Negotiator at the National Walsh Family Law Negotiation Competition.

Fluent in English, Bengali, Urdu, and Hindi, Samah's linguistic abilities further enable her to connect with a diverse clientele, offering them legal services that are both inclusive and comprehensive.
