Sarah Dingwell

Hailing from the scenic and historic city of St. John's in Newfoundland and Labrador, Sarah's journey in law and literature began in the nurturing environment of her hometown. With a passion for the intricacies of language and an analytical mind, she pursued her undergraduate studies at Memorial University of Newfoundland. Her dedication and scholarly pursuits led to her earning a Bachelor of Arts degree in 2017, with a dual focus on English Literature and Communications. This multidisciplinary approach not only honed her interpretive skills but also equipped her with a profound understanding of effective communication.

Sarah's academic journey then led her to the esteemed University of New Brunswick’s Faculty of Law. It was here, amidst the intellectual rigor and vibrant community of Fredericton, New Brunswick, that she attained her Juris Doctor in 2020. This period of her life was not just about academic growth; it was a transformative experience that shaped her legal philosophy and professional aspirations.

In the following year, Sarah embarked on a practical journey in the legal world, joining the Newfoundland and Labrador Legal Aid Commission in St. John's as an articling student. This role was pivotal in her career, as she immersed herself in the complexities of Family Law and Criminal Defence. Her time at the Legal Aid Commission was marked by a deepening understanding of the law's impact on individuals and communities, especially in challenging circumstances.

Upon completing her articles, Sarah achieved a significant professional milestone by being called to the Newfoundland and Labrador Bar in February 2021. Her legal acumen and dedication were further recognized when she was admitted to the Ontario Bar just two months later, in April 2021. This dual qualification underlines her adaptability and commitment to the legal profession across provincial boundaries.

Sarah's legal journey took her next to Ontario, where she joined a full-service firm in the dynamic Durham Region. As an Associate, she delved into Family Law, further refining her expertise in this field. Her practice in Ontario was characterized by a focus on understanding and addressing the diverse needs of families in transition.
