I and my two children came into Canada in June 2017 as refugees. The basis of my claim was domestic violence, female genital mutilation and gender persecution. My claim was accepted. We got our PR in 2019 and that was when a lawyer advised that I could invite my husband to visit with us, which I did. But he was refused a visa. The same lawyer said that since I have my PR and that the domestic violence from my husband was not life threatening because I was running from my husband people that I could sponsor him. I took his counsel. I did not know any better and i put in the sponsorship application which was denied on the basis that my marriage was not genuine.. The lawyer said I should appeal the decision which we did. During the appeal, they focused more on my refugee claim and most of my response began to negate my refugee claim. During the application for sponsorship, I included lots of communication between my husband, which was used against me. At the end, the appeal was declined.

Hi Joanna- I saw the video of you being harassed by the NRP. I too am anti génocide, and as a student of history, we all know where this kind of behaviour leads. On your side 100%.

Hello Joanna, I saw the video of you being harassed. I stand with you 100% and I feel like you are either the perfect person to help or maybe you can refer me. I work with a grassroots organization called PaliLiberation, we are on TikTok and Instagram, mainly. We verify the identity of families in Gaza and make content to help them raise money to escape and restart their lives. I have been working with one family in particular and I have been in contact with one individual from this family since mid May. His plan is to come to Canada to study and work. He would like to live here permanently. I have no idea how to help him with this. I have been searching for information and help for months, I can’t find anything definitive. I am totally supportive of the Arab/Muslim residents in Gaza and the West Bank who are ruthlessly 'disadvantaged' by the Israel government/military as well as by civilian Israeli zealots. It seems that the police are totally out of line regarding their visit to speak to you about your 'civil rights' involvement in this issue. Unfortunately, regarding the recent police visit about complaints about your media posts in this respect, you present yourself as an obnoxious, petulant and immature woman. Is it not possible for you to keep your mouth shut for only a few seconds to let the police talk during their visit? I would hate to have you as my lawyer or otherwise to add support a cause that I support.

Please stop making immigrants. The victims I left my number. I'm sure if you speak to me. You will hear this in my voice.Canadians are being attacked like myself. I have video I have had the police called on me for false accusations because lawyers like you and the police are believing that immigrants are the victims, madam they are not. I hope you read this message. It took me a while to do it as I have only 5% vision. I saw your video and I have had to deal with that.
