In the realm of Commercial Litigation, Bobby adeptly handles shareholder conflicts, oppression remedies, injunctions, creditor remedies, and complex contractual disagreements. His expertise further extends to addressing issues related to the fiduciary obligations and liabilities of directors and officers, fraud recovery, professional negligence, and defamation.

On the Insolvency & Restructuring front, Bobby represents a wide array of clients, including Trustees, Receivers, Monitors, secured creditors, equipment lessors, and landlords in proceedings under the BIA and CCAA. He has also represented Debtors in restructuring proposals under the BIA. A significant portion of his work is conducted in the Commercial Court. Before joining Miller Thomson, Bobby was instrumental in founding and expanding a highly regarded insolvency and restructuring group at his previous firm.

Bobby’s capacity to lead is evident in his role as lead counsel in numerous trials, arbitrations, and appeals, especially when navigating complex disputes requiring clients to make challenging decisions. His past experiences in law firm management have endowed him with exemplary leadership skills and a profound understanding of the business dimensions of legal disputes.

His clientele regularly comprises companies with General Counsel, entrepreneurs, and mid to large-sized private entities. Bobby’s leadership trajectory includes positions such as managing partner, executive committee member, and practice group leader at a regional Ontario law firm. He has also contributed his insights as a regular speaker at the annual CBA Leadership Conference for managing partners and at CBA and CAIRP events focusing on insolvency topics.

Bobby’s professional achievements and leadership have been recognized in "The Best Lawyers in Canada" for Insolvency and Financial Restructuring Law and "The Canadian Legal Lexpert Directory" for Insolvency and Financial Restructuring, as well as Litigation - Corporate Commercial.

Among the notable cases he has undertaken are acting for the Receiver of a $20MM sports facility in the GTA, serving as lead counsel for CourtCanada Ltd. in its lawsuit against the Ontario government, and representing the major creditor in the Bankruptcy of Sally Creek at all judicial levels, a landmark case in Ontario regarding Trustee misconduct.

Bobby’s dedication to community service is demonstrated through his involvement with the Board of Directors for the United Way of Peel Region, where he served as Chair of the governance committee, and his contribution to the Foundation Board of Directors for Providence Health Care.
