Shannon Sturgeon

Shannon is swiftly carving a niche in commercial real estate law, focusing on enhancing her expertise in commercial leasing, land transactions, and financing related to real property. After completing her summer and articling terms at Miller Thomson, she seamlessly transitioned to an associate role within the firm following her bar admission in 2021.

Her academic journey took her to Queen’s University for law school, where, in her final year, she engaged in an externship at the Department of Justice in Ottawa, gaining invaluable experience. Furthermore, Shannon dedicated her time to volunteering with Pro Bono Students Canada, where she played a pivotal role in developing a policy for a Kingston-based non-profit, addressing new federal legislation.

Shannon's commitment to her community is evident through her active participation in the Student Awards Committee and the Faculty Awards Committee at Queen's University Law Students Society. Additionally, she contributed her time to the Steerers' and Four Sisters Junior Sailing Regattas, showcasing her dedication to supporting local events.

With her admission to the Ontario Bar in 2021, following her graduation from Queen's University with a J.D. in 2020 and a Bachelor of Commerce from Dalhousie University in 2017, Shannon's educational background and hands-on experience equip her with a solid foundation in commercial real estate law. Her commitment to professional growth and community involvement marks her as a rising talent in the legal field.
