Gabrielle Pop-Lazic

Gabrielle's academic journey began with a Bachelor's degree in Political Science from the University of Chicago, followed by an LLB from the University of Toronto. Further enriching her understanding of human behavior, Gabrielle also pursued certification as a Gestalt Therapist at the Gestalt Institute of Toronto. Since 2000, when she was called to the bar, Gabrielle has been a steadfast practitioner of law, with a special focus on family law and child protection from 2007 onwards.

Her career has seen her argue cases across all judicial levels in Ontario, including the Supreme Court of Canada, showcasing her vast litigation experience. Gabrielle's commitment to child welfare was also evident through her roles on the Child and Family Services Review Board and the Custody Review Board, where her contributions made significant impacts.

In her legal practice, Gabrielle is known for her compassionate and insightful approach, always prioritizing her clients' best outcomes with zeal and dedication. Her professional path includes notable positions such as a Senior Associate at Gelman & Associates, starting in July 2022, where she tackled complex parenting and property disputes in the Niagara Region on a hybrid basis.

Before joining Gelman & Associates, Gabrielle was a key figure at Jamal Family Law PC in Oakville, Ontario, from April 2014 to June 2022. There, she honed her skills in family law and child protection, with a keen interest in appellate advocacy. Her earlier career as a sole practitioner from 2008 to 2014 allowed her deep dives into these fields, following a stint at McGowan & Associates in Toronto from 2000 to 2007, where she engaged in class action litigation on behalf of plaintiffs.
