Adam Hummel

Adam Hummel serves as Of Counsel within the Wills & Estates practice group at Hummingbird Lawyers LLP, where he has spent numerous years guiding clients through the intricacies of estate planning, administration, and litigation. Adam's expertise encompasses a range of estate matters, from navigating complex dependent support claims and contesting wills to overseeing the passing of accounts in the Superior Court. His approach combines deep legal knowledge with a keen awareness of the emotional complexities inherent in estate issues.

Adam is a familiar presence in courts across the Greater Toronto Area, representing a diverse clientele that includes estate trustees, beneficiaries, holders of powers of attorney for both property and personal care, dependents, and guardians. He is known for his meticulous attention to detail across all cases and for fostering creative settlements or pursuing vigorous advocacy as the situation demands.

Following his admission to the Ontario Bar in 2012, Adam's career path led him through several boutique civil litigation firms, where his interest and proficiency in wills and estates law flourished. Beyond the courtroom and office, Adam finds joy in reading, exploring new destinations, and cherishing moments with his wife and their two young children.

Adam's educational background includes a J.D. from the University of Windsor's Faculty of Law and a Bachelor of Arts with Honours in Political Science and History from York University. A member of the Ontario Bar since 2012, Adam is also affiliated with the Law Society of Ontario.

His practice areas extend to civil litigation, wills and estates litigation, and employment law. Adam's contributions to legal scholarship include publications on various immigration topics, such as pathways to permanent residence, admissibility issues, and appeals, as well as a notable work titled "Amani Haki Yetu: Peace Is Our Right." Additionally, he has co-authored an analysis on a pivotal estates law case, showcasing his expertise in the field.
