Robert MacDonald

Rob Macdonald shines as a pivotal Partner within the Litigation and Dispute Resolution Group of his firm. His expertise covers a wide range of civil and commercial litigation areas, including conflicts between debtors and creditors, mortgage and real estate disputes, as well as bankruptcy, insolvency, and insurance cases.

Rob's professional journey has seen him representing a diverse clientele, from individual clients to large corporations across various sectors like banking, real estate, and energy. His involvement spans several critical legal areas: shareholder and partnership disagreements, proceedings for oppression remedies, insurance claim debates, negligence cases, and an array of disputes related to contracts and debts. His legal acumen has been showcased across all levels of Ontario courts, up to the Court of Appeal, and various administrative bodies.

Rob's academic roots were laid at McGill University, followed by his pursuit of legal studies at the University of New Brunswick. Before his association with Fogler, Rubinoff in 2014, he honed his skills at a commercial litigation firm in Toronto, entering the Ontario bar in 2011.

Beyond his litigation work, Rob is an active member of several legal communities, including the Advocates Society, where he served as the Vice-Chair of the Commercial Litigation Practice Group, and contributes to the Ontario Bar Association and the Canadian Bar Association. His commitment to legal education and development is evident through his participation in significant speaking engagements and publications on a range of topics from privacy and data protection to blockchain technology and mortgage enforcement.
