David Lees

David began his legal journey with Mills & Mills LLP in 2001, after completing his articling period there. As a skilled civil litigator, he brings a wealth of experience to handling a broad spectrum of disputes. These include, but are not limited to, issues surrounding estates, employment, business, and the complexities of non-profit organization governance. His proficiency has seen him represent clients across various judicial platforms, from Ontario's Divisional Court to the Court of Appeal, as well as navigating the intricate landscapes of administrative tribunals and arbitration panels. In recognition of his leadership and expertise, David ascended to the role of Managing Partner for LegalShield at Mills & Mills LLP in 2018. This position underscores his commitment to ensuring that LegalShield members receive top-tier legal support coupled with unparalleled service quality.

Beyond his litigation practice, David contributes significantly to the legal community and beyond by serving on the boards of several organizations. His professional memberships include the Law Society of Ontario, The Advocate’s Society, and the Christian Legal Fellowship, reflecting his deep engagement with both the legal profession and his personal convictions.

His academic credentials are impressive, with an Honours B.A. and a Master of Arts from the University of Toronto, completed in 1997 and 2000, respectively. He further solidified his legal foundations by earning a J.D. from the University of Toronto in 2000, making him a member of the Law Society of Ontario since 2002.
