Garrett Horrocks

Garrett has carved out a niche in the legal landscape, focusing solely on the complexities of estate, trust, and capacity litigation. His expertise spans a broad spectrum of contested matters, from will challenge applications and dependant’s support claims to guardianship applications, disputes over trustees and attorneys, and the detailed process of passing accounts. Beyond the courtroom, Garrett lends his knowledge to trustees and fiduciaries, guiding them through the intricacies of estate and trust administration and aiding in the procurement of certificates of appointment.

In 2021, Garrett rejoined Mills & Mills LLP as an associate, a full-circle moment after his initial articling with the firm in 2016. His journey into law began with a Bachelor of Arts from Concordia University, followed by a Juris Doctor from Western University in 2016. During his law school tenure, Garrett dedicated time to volunteer with Pro Bono Students Canada at a legal aid clinic in London, Ontario. There, he offered his services to vulnerable and disadvantaged clients, particularly in appeals to the Social Benefits Tribunal.

Garrett's commitment to his profession is evident through his active involvement in several legal communities. He contributes to the Toronto Lawyers Association New Lawyers Committee and is a valued member of The Advocates’ Society, the Canadian and Ontario Bar Associations. Garrett's dedication to community service shines through his regular volunteer work with Toronto Lawyers Feed the Hungry, demonstrating his belief in giving back to the community.
