Lauren Kason

Since joining Mills & Mills LLP in 2017, Lauren has made significant contributions as part of the Wills and Estates Group. She dives deep into estate planning, administration, and litigation, offering her expertise in crafting wills, handling powers of attorney for both property and personal care, and guiding through probate applications.

In the realm of estate litigation, Lauren is adept at both defending and initiating will challenges, filing for guardianship, and advocating for dependant support claims. Her courtroom experience spans the Superior Court of Justice and the Ontario Court of Justice, showcasing her breadth of legal acumen.

Lauren's journey into law began with her graduation from Western University’s Faculty of Law in 2015, following her Honours Bachelor of Arts in Criminology from York University in 2011. Her legal career took a significant step forward when she was called to the Bar in 2016 after completing her articles of clerkship.

Her time in law school was marked by notable involvement with the Canada-United States Law Institute (CUSLI), where she excelled as Logistics Director and President of the CUSLI Student Committee. Beyond the confines of academia, Lauren's commitment to making a difference led her to The Hunger Project, where she engaged in a community empowerment workshop in Madhya Pradesh, India. This experience not only enhanced her humility and gratitude but also fueled her dedication to community service and charitable work.

Lauren's legal practice encompasses Wills, Estates, and Trusts, along with Powers of Attorney, Probate & Estate Administration, and Trusts, solidifying her position as a versatile and compassionate legal professional. Her affiliations with The Law Society of Ontario, the Canadian and Ontario Bar Associations, the Toronto Lawyers Association, and The Advocates’ Society reflect her commitment to her profession.

Moreover, Lauren's volunteering with Lawyers Feed the Hungry highlights her ongoing commitment to community service, underscoring her belief in the power of law as a force for good.
