Cassandra Laperriere

Cassandra Laperriere's academic journey began at the University of Western Ontario, where she delved into Criminology, earning her Honours Bachelor's degree with a Minor in English Language and Literature in 2016. She pursued her legal aspirations at the same institution, graduating with her J.D. in 2020. During her time in law school, Cassandra gained practical experience by working at law firms with focuses ranging from real estate and estate law to criminal law. Following her articling period at Carmanna, Friedberg LLP, she was welcomed into the firm as an associate lawyer after her admission to the Bar in May 2021.

Her commitment to justice and legal service was evident through her volunteer work with notable organizations such as Innocence Canada, Pro Bono Students Canada, and the Canadian Civil Liberties Association. At the Community Legal Services Clinic, she served the low-income community and university students by offering legal support in criminal law matters. Cassandra's leadership skills shone as she led Western’s Chapter of LEVEL, a charity committed to eliminating justice barriers, promoting empathy, and upholding human rights. Her prowess in litigation was showcased in several competitions, most notably the Arnup Cup, a prestigious criminal moot competition in Ontario.

Now a respected member of the Law Society of Ontario, the Criminal Lawyers Association, and the Toronto Lawyers Association, Cassandra Laperriere stands out for her dedication to advancing justice and her significant contributions to the legal community.
