Since joining the legal profession in 2015 as a family lawyer, I've dedicated myself to finding lasting, affordable solutions for the complex issues that arise within family law. Offering clear, straightforward, and honest guidance, I aim to help my clients navigate through some of the toughest periods they may face. My approach is rooted in the belief that clear counsel can pave the way for informed, beneficial decisions amidst the turmoil of separation, which I've seen disrupt many individuals' ability to make sound judgments.
Building a foundation of trust and providing crystal-clear advice have always been cornerstones of my practice. By doing so, I empower my clients to make choices that will benefit them in the long run, ensuring they are well-informed at every step.
My legal experience is broad and varied, encompassing numerous motions, conferences, mediations, arbitrations, and trials. While I strive to resolve conflicts outside the courtroom, I am fully prepared and capable of engaging in litigation when necessary, backed by a team of equally skilled and dedicated professionals.
Prior to my legal education at Western University, I spent over a decade in the hospitality industry, culminating in a pivotal role as General Manager of The Harbour Restaurant in Kingston, where I oversaw the execution of numerous events, including many weddings each year. This role honed my skills in client communication and goal realization, a skill set that I've seamlessly transitioned into my legal practice.
My academic background in psychology, with an Honours Bachelor of Arts from Queen's University, has significantly enhanced my understanding of the emotional dynamics at play in family disputes. This knowledge allows me to address my clients' concerns with empathy and effectiveness, managing stress and anxiety with a level-headed approach.
Outside the courtroom, music is my passion. I play drums and have recently taken up the acoustic guitar. I also founded a podcast group, "Decades," which delves into music albums in depth, highlighting Canadian bands like The Guess Who and The Sheepdogs as some of our top picks. Family time, including moments with my dog, Brady, is a cherished part of my daily life, grounding me and enriching my personal and professional journey.
