Andrew McIntosh stands as a pivotal figure at Bereskin & Parr, where he steers the Litigation and contentious IP practice group as a co-leader. His legal acumen is deeply rooted in intellectual property litigation, encompassing patents, trademarks, and trade secrets.

With a robust background in trial and appellate litigation, Andrew's expertise spans a diverse range of technological domains. These include pharmaceuticals, chemistry, polymer science, biotechnology, oilfield services, military defense, electronics, electronic document imaging, mechanical arts, and various consumer products. His foray into pharmaceutical patent litigation is notable, engaging in Patented Medicines (Notice of Compliance) proceedings, alongside infringement and impeachment actions. Andrew's entrepreneurial spirit shone through between 2009 and 2011 when he co-founded a boutique firm specializing in pharmaceutical patent litigation. His courtroom presence extends across multiple venues, including the Federal Court, Federal Court of Appeal, Ontario Superior Court, and Ontario Court of Appeal.

Beyond litigation, Andrew provides strategic counsel on patent acquisition for chemical and mechanical inventions and navigates intellectual property due diligence challenges for clients.

As a thought leader in intellectual property law, Andrew has contributed scholarly articles and lectures. He is also the principal author of two chapters in a well-regarded textbook focusing on Remedies in intellectual property litigation.

Away from the courtroom, Andrew immerses himself in the world of minor sports, dedicating his time to coaching and supporting his two sons in hockey, lacrosse, and other sports activities.

Andrew's educational credentials are comprehensive, holding an LL.B. from the University of Windsor and a J.D. from the University of Detroit in 1993, preceded by a B.Sc. in Chemistry from the University of Western Ontario in 1990. His professional qualifications are extensive, including being a registered Canadian Trademark Agent since 2005, a United States Patent Agent since 1997, and a Canadian Patent Agent since 1996. He was admitted to the Ontario Bar in 1995.
