David Lackman

David's journey into law began with his Honours graduation from McGill University in Montreal in 1978, followed by earning his Juris Doctorate, cum laude, from the Southwestern University School of Law in Los Angeles. His legal career was officially launched in 1982 when the Supreme Court of California recognized him as an Attorney and Counsellor-at-Law. Three years later, he was also welcomed by the Law Society of Ontario, granting him the titles of Barrister, Solicitor, and Notary Public.

With over 35 years dedicated to litigation, David has represented clients in a wide array of serious and intricate cases involving personal injury, disability claims, and wrongful death. His legal acumen has seen him secure remarkable victories against major corporations, including those in the railway sector.

David's expertise covers a comprehensive range of personal injury specializations such as brain and catastrophic injuries, long-term disability, motor vehicle accidents, slip and falls, spinal cord injuries, and wrongful death cases.

His academic credentials are impressive, having studied at McGill University and then Southwestern University School of Law, where he distinguished himself by graduating with honors.

David's professional excellence has been recognized through various awards, including the Distinguished Service Award and the Dean Edgell Award from the Ontario Trial Lawyers Association, a "Distinguished" rating by Martindale-Hubbell, and listings in Best Lawyers in Canada since 2017.

As an active member of the legal community, David contributes to the Ontario Trial Lawyers Association, where he has chaired the editorial board of their journal since 2003. He is also a valued member of The Law Society of Ontario, The Advocates’ Society, and the Toronto Lawyers Association. Additionally, David is a sought-after guest speaker, sharing his insights on insurance litigation at venues such as The Advocates’ Society, Osgoode Hall Law School, and CFRB Radio's "Law Talk."
