Ivanna Iwasykiw

Ivanna's journey into the legal field is marked by an impressive blend of academic excellence and practical experience. Starting her academic career at Wilfrid Laurier University, she delved into Anthropology and Ancient Mediterranean Studies, earning her Bachelor's degree with honors in 2013. Her quest for knowledge didn't stop there. Ivanna pursued law, securing Canadian Law degree from the University of Windsor and an American Law degree from the University of Detroit Mercy School of Law, graduating Cum Laude in 2017. During her law studies, Ivanna honed her skills in trial practice and advocacy, distinguishing herself in advocacy competitions, embracing the role of a Public Defender in Michigan, and contributing at Windsor’s Legal Aid clinic. Her legal prowess was officially recognized when she was called to the bar in June 2018.

In her professional career, Ivanna has become an unwavering advocate for survivors of various forms of sexual misconduct, including assault, childhood abuse, harassment, and revenge porn. Her practice is not just about legal representation; it's about empowering survivors to reclaim their strength and find closure.

Before her tenure at Jellinek Ellis Gluckstein began in 2021, Ivanna's legal journey included articling at a full-service firm in Cambridge, Ontario, and practicing general litigation in Mississauga, Ontario. Her work during this period was diverse, touching on Human Rights, Employment, Defamation, and privacy invasions, equipping her with a broad skill set and a versatile approach to complex claims.

Ivanna’s dedication extends beyond the courtroom. She is recognized for her compassionate, practical, and relentless approach to advocacy, aiming to be a pillar of support for those seeking justice. Aside from her legal pursuits, Ivanna cherishes time spent traveling, canoeing, and hiking with her German Shepherd, indulging in fantasy novels, and exploring new culinary delights.

Her professional affiliations include membership in The Law Society of Ontario and the Ontario Trial Lawyers Association, and she has shared her insights as a guest speaker on Newstalk 1010 Radio. Ivanna’s commitment to her clients and her craft has also earned her accolades, such as the People’s Choice Award at the Diamond Level for Employment Law.
