Myriah Graves

Myriah holds the pivotal role of Director of Professional Development within her firm, a position where she oversees the comprehensive development and progression of both summer and articling students, as well as associates within the firm. Her duties encompass a broad spectrum, from spearheading recruitment efforts to fostering mentoring relationships and managing performance evaluations.

Her journey with the firm began in 2000 when she started as an articling student, providing her with invaluable insights and experiences that she leverages to enrich the training programs under her guidance. Myriah's approach ensures that newcomers not only merge seamlessly into the firm's culture but also find their experiences there to be immensely fulfilling.

Before stepping into her current role, Myriah honed her skills as a litigation lawyer, delving into corporate, employment, and construction law. This varied legal background enriches her ability to offer comprehensive guidance and support to the firm's developing professionals.

Myriah's educational credentials are robust, having been called to the Ontario Bar in 2002 after earning her LL.B. from the University of Windsor in 2001 and her B.A. from the University of Western Ontario in 2000. Her commitment to professional growth extends beyond her immediate responsibilities, evidenced by her active participation in several legal associations. She is notably involved with NALP (National Association for Law Placement), where she served as Chair of its Canadian Section and played key roles in fostering diversity and planning significant meetings for the Canadian legal community.

Her affiliation with the Ontario Bar Association, Women’s Law Forum, Toronto Lawyers Association, Law Society of Ontario, Canadian Bar Association, and TLOMA, where she represented the 2019 TLOMA Associate Compensation Committee, underscores her dedication to the legal profession and its development.

Myriah's contributions have been recognized with the NALP Service Excellence Award, celebrating her exceptional dedication and impact on the organization and its members. Beyond her professional achievements, she is actively engaged in her community, serving on the Board of Directors for the Nottinghill Co-Operative Preschool, highlighting her commitment to contributing to the welfare and development of the broader community.
