Shane Todd

Shane holds the position of Vice-Chair at Fasken's Ontario Labour, Employment and Human Rights Group. With a focus on advising employers on workplace dynamics and representing them in various legal matters, Shane's expertise is frequently acknowledged in esteemed legal circles, including Best Lawyers and Legal 500. His recognition as a “Rising Star” by Lexpert in 2019 underlines his significant impact in the field.

Before transitioning into law, Shane acquired valuable experience as a human resources professional, giving him a unique perspective on the interplay between workplace decisions and organizational health. He applies this insight to effectively manage challenges or facilitate major organizational changes like workforce adjustments, business transactions, and policy revisions. Shane's adeptness also extends to defending employers in regulatory matters, workplace safety investigations, and related legal inquiries.

His leadership extends to editorial duties, having served as Editor-in-Chief for the HR Space, a digest focused on labour and employment matters.

Within Fasken, Shane's contributions are manifold. He actively participates in the Ontario Professional Development Committee and leads the Fasken Pride Network. This group, under his leadership, champions 2SLGBTQIA+ initiatives, conducting outreach, fundraising, and providing support within and beyond the firm.

Shane's academic journey includes a JD from Queen's University and a Bachelor's degree in Management from the University of Lethbridge.
