Evita Ferreira shines as a standout partner within the business law sphere at Goodmans, where her focus spans corporate and securities law. She skillfully represents both publicly traded and privately held entities, delving into the intricacies of mergers and acquisitions, public offerings, as well as debt and equity financings, private placements, and corporate reorganizations.

Her advisory prowess extends to ensuring companies meet their continuous disclosure obligations, navigate corporate governance, adhere to legislative compliance, and manage general corporate law matters effectively.

Prior to her tenure at Goodmans, Evita honed her expertise in corporate restructuring, corporate law, and banking and finance law at a prominent national law firm. Notably, she is proficient in French, enhancing her ability to serve a diverse clientele.

Evita dedicates her time to Raising the Roof, a charity aimed at finding long-term solutions to homelessness, and offers her expertise to Pro Bono Ontario, providing free legal advice. Her contributions have earned her the title of "One to Watch" in corporate law by The Best Lawyers in Canada.

Her work in mergers and acquisitions is particularly distinguished, having acted as counsel in the $1.2 billion acquisition of Cirque du Soleil by an ad hoc committee of lenders, and advising Onex Corporation on its $5 billion purchase of WestJet Airlines Ltd. Additionally, Evita has been instrumental in corporate recapitalization transactions, such as Sherritt International Corporation's capital structure improvement and Calfrac Well Services Ltd.'s recapitalization transaction.

In corporate finance, Evita has represented the underwriters in FG Acquisition Corp.'s US$115 million IPO and Hudbay Minerals Inc.'s US$600 million senior notes offering. Her guidance has also been sought in follow-on public offerings for notable firms like Brookfield Asset Management Inc. and Fire & Flower Holdings Corp.

Holding degrees from McGill University in both LL.B. and B.C.L, Evita's academic background lays a solid foundation for her legal practice.
