Delna Contractor serves as a partner at Lenczner Slaght, showcasing a broad spectrum of knowledge and practice in both private and public law arenas. Her work in civil litigation spans challenging commercial disputes, cases of restructuring and insolvency, civil fraud, professional negligence, and defamation. In the realm of public law, Delna is adept at handling workplace investigations and judicial reviews.

Her experience in the courtroom includes prosecuting and defending claims across various levels, from trial to appeal. Delna has represented clients before all judicial tiers in Ontario, in addition to participating in arbitrations and administrative tribunal hearings.

A strong advocate for diversity and inclusion within the legal field, Delna is especially focused on empowering women of colour and first-generation lawyers. She dedicates her time to mentoring upcoming legal professionals and law students through her involvement with multiple legal organizations.

As an active member of the legal community, Delna contributes to the Toronto Commercial List Users’ Committee and the Advocates’ Society. She is also involved with the Group of Racialized (Ontario) Women Litigators (GROWL) and the Federation of Asian Canadian Lawyers, where she plays a significant role in the Advocacy Committee.

Her practice areas include appeals, arbitration, commercial litigation, construction and infrastructure, defamation and media, insolvency and restructuring, and professional liability and regulation. Delna was admitted to the Ontario Bar in 2015, following her completion of a JD from the University of Calgary in 2014 and a BA in Political Science from the University of British Columbia in 2010.
