Derek Knoke

Derek Knoke, part of the team at Lenczner Slaght, brings his expertise to the table as an associate with a deep focus on civil litigation. His legal acumen shines through in appeals, commercial disputes, and defamation cases.

Moreover, Derek has carved a niche in defending medical professionals against malpractice and professional liability claims.

An alumnus of Osgoode Hall Law School, Derek distinguished himself by securing several academic accolades. Before his current role at Lenczner Slaght, he contributed his skills as a judicial law clerk to the judges at the Court of Appeal for Ontario.

His areas of expertise include navigating through appeals, class actions, commercial litigation, defamation and media issues, insolvency and restructuring, public law, securities litigation, and trusts and estates litigation. Derek was admitted to the Ontario Bar in 2018, bringing with him a JD from Osgoode Hall Law School earned in 2017, a PhD from the University of St. Michael’s College in Toronto obtained in 2014, and a BA from Lee University in Tennessee dated back to 2002.
