Jonathan Chen holds the position of partner at Lenczner Slaght, bringing a wealth of experience in class actions, business litigation, product liability, and professional negligence. His clientele is diverse, spanning financial institutions, tech firms, real estate developers, and pharmaceutical entities. Jonathan has presented cases across various judicial levels, including the Ontario Superior Court of Justice, the Ontario Court of Appeal, the Federal Court, and several administrative tribunals.

Before his tenure at Lenczner Slaght, Jonathan started his legal career at a prominent national firm. There, he represented a wide range of clients including banks, automotive manufacturers, insurers, municipal bodies, police service boards, and educational institutions. He played a pivotal role in class actions and contributed to pioneering decisions on aggregate damages in Canada.

During his law studies, Jonathan distinguished himself as Co-Editor-in-Chief of the Queen's Law Journal and served as a Teaching Assistant in Legal Writing and Research.

His areas of expertise include appeals, arbitration, class actions, commercial litigation, injunctions, insurance, intellectual property, product liability, professional liability and regulation, and trusts and estates litigation. Jonathan was admitted to the Bar in Ontario in 2013 and is expected to join the British Columbia Bar in 2024. His educational accomplishments include Legal Project Management certification from LawVision Group in 2017, a JD from Queen's University in 2012 where he was on the Dean's Honours List, and an HBA with High Distinction in Criminology, Sociology, and Philosophy from the University of Toronto in 2008.
