Jonathan D. Langley, an associate at Lenczner Slaght, engages in a wide-ranging civil litigation practice. He frequently represents both individuals and corporations in intricate commercial disputes and is adept at defending physicians in both medical negligence lawsuits and regulatory matters. Jonathan's litigation experience spans the Ontario Superior Court and Divisional Court, alongside appearances at various administrative tribunals.

His academic journey at Osgoode Hall Law School was marked by significant involvement and achievement. He served as a research assistant, was appointed a Dean’s Fellow focusing on Constitutional and Public Law, and contributed to the Innocence Project by delving into complex issues related to criminal, constitutional, and administrative law. Jonathan played a key role in the Osgoode Hall Test-Case Litigation Project, assisting with a constitutional challenge regarding police use of lethal force. He was also an Associate Editor for the Osgoode Hall Law Journal and participated in both the Cassels Brock Cup Criminal Law Moot and the Lenczner Slaght/CBA Gale Cup, receiving accolades such as the Criminal Procedure Prize and the Faisal Mirza Criminal Law Writing Prize.

Before embarking on his legal career, Jonathan pursued an undergraduate degree in theatre and classical studies at Queen’s University, earning the Edythe Zacks Millman Prize in the Performing Arts.

His legal practice covers appeals, commercial litigation, construction and infrastructure, employment, professional liability and regulation, and public law. Jonathan was admitted to the Ontario Bar in 2018, following his graduation from Osgoode Hall Law School with a JD in 2017 and obtaining a BA with Honours in Drama and Classical Studies from Queen’s University in 2004.
