Jonathan McDaniel, serving as a partner at Lenczner Slaght, leads a versatile litigation practice with a pronounced emphasis on intricate commercial litigation, arbitration, and public law matters. His clientele spans government agencies, corporate boards, entities in the oil and gas sector, regulated professionals, manufacturers, financial organizations, developers, insurance firms, and technology companies.

Jonathan's legal acumen has seen him represent these diverse clients across all judicial levels in Ontario, including the Alberta and Manitoba Courts of King’s Bench, the Nova Scotia Supreme Court, and before various administrative bodies such as the Ontario Human Rights Tribunal. His involvement ranges from trials and appeals to numerous other legal proceedings.

Earning his law degree from the University of Toronto, where he was honored with the Laskin Prize in Constitutional Law, Jonathan also brings experience from his time at a national law firm with offices in Calgary and Toronto.

His expertise covers a broad spectrum including appeals, arbitration, class actions, commercial litigation, defamation and media, and securities litigation. Jonathan's legal journey saw him admitted to the Alberta Bar in 2017 and the Ontario Bar in 2018, following his graduation with a JD from the University of Toronto in 2016 and a BA with First Class Joint Honours in History, Political Science, and Classics from McGill University in 2012.
