Andrea Chiu

Andrea Chiu is on the path to establishing a diverse practice in corporate law, with her expertise extending across mergers and acquisitions, securities, corporate finance, and regulatory compliance. Her legal portfolio is already rich with engagements in both public and private mergers, acquisitions, capital-raising activities through public offerings and private placements, reverse takeovers, and a broad spectrum of corporate and commercial transactions.

In 2023, Andrea officially joined the legal profession as a member of the Ontario Bar, following her graduation from Queen’s University, Faculty of Law in 2022. Her journey through the legal field included a crucial articling period at Miller Thomson LLP, where she further honed her skills. This period also included a significant secondment to the Privacy Office at the Bank of Montreal, during which Andrea contributed to several important regulatory compliance initiatives.

Andrea’s dedication to the legal profession is complemented by her active involvement in a number of professional organizations, including the Law Society of Ontario, the Research Ethics Board at the Centre for Addiction and Mental Health, Young Women in Law, and the Federation of Asian Canadian Lawyers. These affiliations not only reflect her commitment to her career but also her engagement with broader legal and ethical considerations in society.

Her educational background, with a J.D. from Queen’s University and an HBA from Western University earned in 2019, provides a solid foundation for her burgeoning career. As Andrea Chiu continues to grow and shape her practice, she remains a legal professional to watch in the corporate law sphere.
