Larry Ellis

Larry Ellis spearheads the Restructuring & Insolvency group at Miller Thomson LLP, bringing a wealth of expertise to the table in the realms of corporate restructurings, bankruptcies, and receiverships, among other areas. His work encompasses a broad spectrum, from litigation to commercial dealings, skillfully navigating the complexities of work-outs and safeguarding creditors' rights.

In his practice, Larry represents a diverse array of stakeholders, including but not limited to, secured and unsecured creditors, receivers, debtors, and lending syndicates. This wide-ranging representation underscores his versatility and deep understanding of the insolvency landscape.

An active participant in the legal community, Larry is affiliated with several prestigious organizations such as the American Bankruptcy Institute and INSOL International. His commitment to the field is further evidenced by his involvement with the Turnaround Management Association and his membership in the Insolvency Law Section of the Ontario Bar Association, among others.

Larry's educational contributions are noteworthy as well, with his upcoming role as an instructor for the University of Toronto’s Law School bar preparation course. Furthermore, his leadership as the Program Chair for the III NextGen Leadership Program Class I, designed to deepen the next generation of insolvency professionals' grasp of international practices, highlights his dedication to fostering expertise in the field.

Admitted to the Ontario Bar in 2004, Larry's legal foundation was laid with an LL.B. from Osgoode Hall Law School in 2003, following his graduation from York University in 2000 with a Bachelor of Arts (Honours). This solid educational background, coupled with his vast professional experience, positions Larry Ellis as a leading figure in the restructuring and insolvency domain, known for his comprehensive approach and commitment to excellence.
