Matthew Marriott

Matthew is carving out a niche in the real estate sector, focusing his practice on commercial transactions and leasing. He's adept at navigating the complexities of buying and selling commercial properties and has a solid track record in handling diverse commercial leasing issues.

After being admitted to the Ontario Bar in 2023, Matthew began his professional journey at Miller Thomson LLP, where he had previously summered and articled. His path to law was paved during his time at the University of Toronto Faculty of Law, from where he graduated with a J.D. in 2022. Before this, Matthew gained invaluable experience working with clients facing housing disputes at Downtown Legal Services, the University of Toronto’s legal clinic. There, he adeptly represented clients before the Landlord and Tenant Board and in landlord negotiations, covering a spectrum of housing issues.

Matthew’s foundation in real estate was laid even before his legal career, having earned a Bachelor of Arts with Honours from Queen’s University in 2018. Following his undergraduate studies, he immersed himself in the real estate industry as a Property Manager for a prominent residential landholding firm. In this role, he efficiently managed a portfolio of mid to high-rise apartment buildings, honing his skills in property management and tenant relations.

With his comprehensive background in both the practical and legal facets of real estate, Matthew brings a unique perspective to his current role. His journey from property management to legal advocacy equips him with a deep understanding of the real estate market, making him a valuable asset to clients navigating the commercial real estate landscape.
