Safa Bajwa

Safa has rapidly become an invaluable asset within the Financial Services Group, where she's nurturing an expansive practice in corporate finance. Her approach is meticulously tailored, ensuring that every client benefits from legal services that are not only of superior quality but also efficiently delivered.

Her journey through the legal landscape began at the University of Toronto's Faculty of Law, a period marked by her dedication to merging legal scholarship with community service. Early on, Safa demonstrated her commitment to economic inclusivity by contributing to the development of a social procurement toolkit with the Toronto Community Benefits Network. This initiative aimed to foster economic growth within the local community. Additionally, her passion for international human rights led her to assist in expanding the Women’s Human Rights Resources Database, enhancing its scope with detailed journal annotations.

Safa's first summer break was a testament to her eagerness to apply her burgeoning legal knowledge. As a research assistant, she delved into the complexities of employment and labour law. Her dedication to societal welfare was evident through her volunteer work at a Toronto law firm, where she was part of a commendable effort to provide essential legal documents to frontline healthcare workers during the COVID-19 pandemic.

The following year brought further opportunities for growth and contribution. An externship at Silent Voice Canada allowed her to engage directly with the deaf community, working alongside the board of directors to navigate legal governance challenges. Her summer at Miller Thomson was characterized by hands-on experience in transactional legal tasks, broadening her understanding and skills in the field.

In her final year of law school, Safa took the helm of the Animal Justice Law Society, showcasing her leadership abilities and her commitment to animal rights. Hosting the annual meeting with Animal Justice Canada was a highlight, underscoring her ability to bring critical issues to the forefront of legal discussion.

Completing her articling term at Miller Thomson, Safa honed her expertise in corporate finance, cementing her role as a dynamic and skilled practitioner. Admitted to the Ontario Bar in 2023 and holding a J.D. from the University of Toronto in 2022, Safa's educational and professional trajectory equips her with a diverse skill set, ready to address the unique demands of her clients in corporate finance.
