Kari Abrams

Kari plays a pivotal role in steering the comprehensive programs for associates and students in the Toronto office, focusing on their holistic development. She is dedicated to overseeing their recruitment, welcoming, career growth, engagement, evaluation, and remuneration. Kari and her team are committed to supporting the professional journey of the firm's legal talents, ensuring their career trajectory is on an upward path.

Before her tenure at Blakes, Kari contributed her expertise as a partner in the employment and labour section of another major Toronto law firm. There, she was deeply involved in mentorship roles and played a significant part in the student committee, guiding young legal minds.

Her involvement extends to several crucial committees within the firm, such as those focused on student affairs, legal personnel, diversity and inclusion, and pro bono work, showcasing her commitment to the firm's values and the broader community.

Kari's legal acumen is backed by a solid educational foundation, including her admission to the Ontario Bar in 2001, a law degree from Osgoode Hall Law School acquired in 1999, a Master’s in Industrial Relations from the University of Toronto obtained in 1996, and a Bachelor’s in Industrial Relations from McGill University completed in 1995.
