Oksana Migitko

Oksana Migitko brings a rich tapestry of international legal experience to her role as an associate in the Toronto-based International Trade & Investment Law Group. Her practice spans an impressive array of focus areas, including anti-corruption, sanctions, regulatory issues, and compliance matters, making her a versatile asset to clients navigating the complexities of global trade.

After completing her LLM at Osgoode Hall Law School, Oksana's educational journey included earning both her LLB and LLM degrees from Saint-Petersburg State University, along with an LLM in European Private Law from the University of Amsterdam. This diverse academic background has equipped her with a broad understanding of international law, which she adeptly applies to her current practice.

Before her tenure at Osgoode, Oksana amassed over a decade of legal experience in Russia, working in various capacities that ranged from in-house legal positions to a consultant role at Deloitte, and eventually as an attorney at a premier national law firm. Her work in Russia covered a wide spectrum of legal matters, including life sciences law, franchise/distribution agreements, competition/antitrust laws, anti-corruption and economic sanctions, and litigation and dispute resolution.

Outside of her professional commitments, Oksana cherishes spending quality time with her family and exploring unique, less-traveled destinations.

Oksana's recent professional endeavors include significant contributions to high-stakes transactions, such as the acquisition of LOGISTEC Corporation by Blue Wolf Capital Partners for C$1.2B and Otsuka Pharmaceutical's acquisition of Mindset Pharma for C$80M. Her insights into the evolving landscape of international law are evident in her contributions to articles on competition/antitrust & foreign investment, the latest rounds of Russia sanctions, new mining laws in Mexico, and an analysis of the Federal Budget 2023 regarding international trade and investment law.

Admitted to the Ontario Bar in 2019, Oksana's extensive experience and academic achievements make her a distinguished figure in the field of International Trade & Investment Law. Her expertise not only aids clients in navigating the legal intricacies of global commerce but also contributes to the broader discourse on international law through her insightful analyses and publications.
