Patrick Nugent

Patrick Nugent, admitted to the Ontario Bar in 1999, serves as a key figure at WeirFoulds LLP, where he holds the position of Partner and Co-Chair of the Real Estate Practice Group. His expertise spans the breadth of commercial real estate and land development, guiding clients through the complexities of buying, selling, and financing commercial and industrial properties. Furthermore, Patrick excels in advising on land development projects, offering his deep knowledge in structuring co-ownership, joint ventures, and limited partnerships for property acquisition, construction, and development.

Before joining WeirFoulds LLP in 2005, Patrick enriched his legal practice at another Toronto firm, managing a diverse portfolio that included franchising, leasing, land financing, mortgage enforcement, and commercial real estate. His unique background also includes a tenure as in-house counsel for a leading retailer and land developer, providing him with an insider’s perspective on the real estate industry.

Patrick's academic foundation in law was laid at Osgoode Hall Law School, where he earned his LL.B., preceded by a B.A. from York University. His distinguished career in real estate law has earned him multiple recognitions by Best Lawyers in Canada.
