Basmah Osman

Basmah Osman is diligently shaping her legal expertise in the comprehensive sphere of employment and labour law. Her focus encompasses a wide array of subjects including employment standards, labour relations, wrongful dismissal, occupational health and safety, and human rights matters.

Initiating her journey with our Toronto firm as a summer student in 2018, Basmah returned to solidify her learning through articling in 2019. A pivotal moment in her early career was a secondment at Metrolinx, enriching her practical experience in the field.

While pursuing her legal education, Basmah engaged deeply in academia and extracurricular activities. Serving as a research assistant and a constitutional law Dean's Fellow, she distinguished herself academically and earned the Goodmans LLP award for her holistic achievements. Basmah also seized the opportunity to broaden her legal horizon by spending a semester at Queen Mary University of London during her final year.

Basmah's formal education credentials include a J.D. from Osgoode Hall Law School, attained in 2019, and a Bachelor of Public Affairs and Policy Management from Carleton University, completed in 2014. She was officially admitted to the Ontario Bar in 2020.

An active participant in the legal community, Basmah is affiliated with the Canadian Bar Association, Ontario Bar Association, and the Law Society of Ontario. She also contributes to legal discourse, contemplating the evolving role of feminism in modern society through her insightful writings.
