Brandon Schupp

Brandon Schupp is carving out a distinguished path in business law, concentrating on securities, mergers and acquisitions, and the intricacies of corporate governance and shareholder activism. His journey with the firm began in 2018 as a summer intern, subsequently returning to the Toronto office to complete his articling period through 2019-2020. This period included a pivotal secondment at Toronto Hydro, where he delved into a diverse array of business law cases, enriching his practical experience.

His academic achievements are notable, having been honored with the Chancellor's Prize and Gold Medal from Western University in 2016, along with being a recipient of the prestigious Davies Ward Phillips & Vineberg LLP Prize in contracts at law school.

Educationally grounded with a J.D. from the University of Toronto and a B.A. (Hons) from Western University, Brandon's legal expertise is further solidified by his admission to the Ontario Bar in 2020. Notably, he played a significant role in Crescent Point Energy Corp.'s acquisition of Hammerhead Energy Inc. in November 2023, the Carlsberg Group's strategic purchase of Waterloo Brewing Ltd. for C$144 million in January 2023, and GreenFirst Forest Products' significant acquisition of Rayonier Advanced Materials for US$235 million in September 2021, among others. These experiences underscore his capability to navigate the complexities of high-stakes business law with acumen and finesse.
