Bryant Oakes

Bryant Oakes is a dynamic practitioner of business and intellectual property law based in Toronto, specializing in the safeguarding and commercialization of IP and technology assets across various client spectrums, from burgeoning startups to established multinational entities. His legal acumen spans the intricate drafting and negotiation of commercial contracts, encompassing licensing agreements, collaborations, SaaS and PaaS arrangements, assignments, and confidentiality agreements. Additionally, Bryant's expertise extends to managing IP-related transactions.

Bryant's role also includes serving as regulatory legal counsel for entities under Health Canada's purview, with a particular emphasis on pharmaceutical manufacturers. He expertly guides clients through the complex regulatory landscape governing the pharmaceutical industry, offering advice on advertising regulations and handling requests for information access.

His tenure at GSK marked a significant phase in his career, where he contributed to the vaccine and pharmacy sectors. Here, Bryant played a pivotal role in the strategic management and operational support of a vast vaccine portfolio, which included leading efforts for the launch and commercialization of a groundbreaking vaccine.

Bryant embarked on his journey with our Toronto team as a summer intern in 2019, subsequently returning to fulfill his articling requirements. His articling experience was enriched by a secondment to a premier Canadian financial institution, further broadening his practical legal experience.

Bryant's educational background is solid, with a J.D. from Lakehead University in 2020 and a B.Sc. (Hons.) from Western University in 2016, underscoring his foundational knowledge in both law and science. He was admitted to the Ontario Bar in 2021.
