Samantha Cass

Samantha Cass is a seasoned expert in the realm of employment and labour law, her legal practice spanning the entire spectrum from employment litigation and grievance arbitrations to tackling disputes related to human rights and occupational health and safety. She extends her expertise to both provincially and federally regulated employers, offering counsel on a variety of issues such as policy formulation, crafting employment contracts, adapting to legislative shifts, and navigating labour relations intricacies.

Her professional journey began in our Toronto branch as a summer student in 2014, followed by a period of articling from 2015 to 2016. Afterward, Samantha honed her legal skills further by completing a clerkship at the Court of Appeal for Ontario, an experience that enriched her legal acumen, paving the way for her return to our firm as an associate.

Before embarking on her legal career, Samantha's path was marked by a significant stint in human resources within the federal government. This experience provided her with a unique perspective on the intricacies of employment law, which she further solidified by pursuing legal studies at the University of Ottawa, where she distinguished herself as a silver medalist.

Samantha's educational background is both diverse and impressive, holding a Juris Doctor from the University of Ottawa, a Master of Industrial Relations from Queen's University, and a Bachelor of Commerce, also from Queen's University.

Her admission to the Ontario bar in 2016 was a testament to her dedication and skill, further solidifying her role as a respected member of the legal community. Samantha's commitment to her field is also reflected in her active membership in the Law Society of Ontario, where she continues to contribute to the profession.
