Michael Murphy

Michael specializes in securities law, focusing on both national and international securities transactions and the regulatory framework within Canada. He plays a pivotal role for issuers and investment banks, guiding them through public and private equity, debt offerings, and private placements.

Beyond transactional work, Michael offers his public company clientele ongoing advice on regulatory adherence, disclosure practices, and securities law issues, ensuring their operations align with current legal standards.

His notable contributions include advising Canadian Western Bank on a C$250 million offering and orchestrating Morguard Corporation’s C$175 million private placement. Michael's work with Brookfield on a US$550 million public offering and his involvement in the Scotia Capital-led C$1 billion public offering highlight his expertise in capital markets.
