Sarah Gupta, holding the position of associate at Lenczner Slaght, specializes in the multifaceted field of intellectual property litigation. Her expertise extends across trademark disputes, copyright controversies, and patent litigations.

Before her current role, Sarah laid the groundwork for her career with a summer position and subsequent articling at a renowned intellectual property-focused boutique firm. Additionally, she honed her legal skills as a law clerk for Justice Fothergill at the Federal Court of Canada, providing her with invaluable judicial insight.

Her legal education was pursued at the University of Ottawa, where she delved into copyright policy research under the mentorship of Professor Michael Geist. Sarah also embraced roles as a legal writing leader and mentor within the women’s legal community. Her competitive spirit shone through in moot court competitions, where she not only reached the semi-finals but also clinched a best factum award at the prestigious Harold G. Fox Intellectual Property Moot.

Sarah’s academic journey began in the realm of science, earning her a Bachelor of Medical Science (Honours) followed by a Master of Science in Physiology and Pharmacology from Western University, grounding her legal practice in a strong scientific foundation.
