Emily Tessier

Emily Tessier is an associate within the Litigation & Dispute Resolution Group at Stikeman Elliott, bringing a vibrant and fresh perspective to legal disputes and resolutions. A member of the Law Society of Ontario, Emily’s journey through the legal landscape is marked by her dynamic involvement and keen insights into complex legal challenges.

Her association with Stikeman Elliott began in 2021 as a summer student, showcasing her dedication and passion for legal practice early on. Emily’s commitment to deepening her legal expertise led her to serve as a clerk at the Superior Court of Justice, where she further honed her skills in 2022/2023.

Throughout her time at law school at the University of Toronto, Emily actively engaged in the faculty’s competitive moot program. She not only competed in but also coached for the Cassels Brock Cup, the Gale Cup Moot, and the Canadian Copyright Policy Moot, demonstrating leadership and a commitment to excellence in legal advocacy. Her third year was notably spent as part of the University of Toronto’s Criminal Appellate Litigation Externship, assisting a team of criminal lawyers on several high-stakes appeals before the Supreme Court of Canada.

With an educational background that includes a J.D. from the University of Toronto and a B.A. from the University of Guelph, where she was awarded the Academic Gold Medal in 2019, Emily’s academic achievements underline her thorough understanding and passion for the law. Now admitted to the Bar in Ontario in 2023, Emily Tessier embarks on her professional career with a solid foundation in litigation and dispute resolution, ready to tackle the challenges and intricacies of the legal system.
