Hamza Mohamadhossen

Hamza, an associate within the Litigation & Dispute Resolution Group, specializes in navigating the complexities of commercial litigation.

As part of his professional commitment, Hamza holds memberships in the Law Society of Ontario, The Advocates’ Society, and the Toronto Lawyers Association, underlining his active involvement in the legal community.

His academic journey at McGill University culminated in dual law degrees, where he immersed himself in advocacy, research, and litigation-related endeavors. This included his volunteer work for a human rights-focused legal organization, a clerkship at the Municipal Court of Ville de Montréal, contributions to research and legal clinics in Montréal, and participation in the Julius Alexander Isaac Moot.

His exemplary performance in law school was recognized with the Montreal Bar Association Prize in Civil Procedure and the James A. Woods Scholarship in Civil Litigation. Before his association with Stikeman Elliott, Hamza enhanced his legal skills with an internship at a renowned international law firm in Paris, further broadening his legal perspective.

His contributions to legal discourse include analyses on the Supreme Court's stance on administrative proceedings and the high threshold for stay of proceedings in an administrative context, as well as insights into the Ontario Court's examination of the new automatic dismissal provision under the Class Proceedings Act and the Supreme Court's clarification on the liability scope in negligence for public authorities making "core policy decisions."
