Jeffrey Elliott

Jeffrey Elliott holds a partnership position across the Financial Products & Services, Capital Markets, and Securities Groups, where he delivers expert guidance to both domestic and international clients on establishing and funding a diverse array of private investment ventures. His portfolio includes mandates in private equity, debt, energy, real estate, agribusiness, infrastructure, emerging markets, leveraged buyouts, venture and growth equity, funds of funds, and hedge funds. Notably, Jeffrey has played a pioneering role in establishing Canada’s institutional search funds, marking him as a leader in this niche field. His deep knowledge extends into securities law, particularly around investment funds such as structured products, mutual funds, and other pooled investment vehicles. His clientele spans investment fund managers, dealers, advisers (local and international), along with public and private investment funds and financial institutions.

In his professional life, Jeffrey is affiliated with the Ontario Bar Association, the Law Society of Ontario, and the International Bar Association, underscoring his active engagement in the legal community.

Jeffrey’s recent accomplishments include advising a globally leading alternative asset manager on establishing its flagship Asia-focused private equity fund, assisting the Province of Ontario and Ontario Capital Growth Corporation in their investments across various venture capital funds, and serving as fund counsel to numerous search funds including Sage Capital, Vonzeo Capital, Ambit Partners, Mineola Search Partners, and Blue Frame Capital.
