Kirsten Cirella

Kirsten Cirella, serving within the Competition & Foreign Investment Group as an associate, dedicates her expertise to scrutinizing transactions under the purview of the Competition Act and the Investment Canada Act. Additionally, she offers guidance to clients navigating the complexities of marketing and advertising laws and regulations across federal and provincial levels.

Affiliated with the Law Society of Ontario and the Canadian Bar Association, Kirsten maintains an active engagement in her professional community.

Kirsten's educational foundation is built on a J.D. from Osgoode Hall Law School, coupled with an M.Sc. and an Honours B.Sc. from Queen’s University. Her admission to the Ontario Bar took place in 2020.

Among her notable contributions, Kirsten was involved in advising HSBC Holdings plc in its substantial C$13.5 billion divestiture of HSBC Bank Canada to the Royal Bank of Canada. She also assisted Mars Incorporated on issues related to the Competition Act and Investment Canada Act in its strategic acquisition of Champion Petfoods. Additionally, Kirsten played a role in facilitating the sale of Lowe’s Companies, Inc.'s Canadian retail operations to Sycamore Partners.
