Ramandeep Grewal

Raman Grewal is a partner within the Corporate Group and plays a crucial role on the firm’s Partnership Board. Her expertise lies primarily in corporate finance and mergers and acquisitions, where she handles a broad spectrum of tasks ranging from domestic and international securities offerings to corporate governance and securities regulatory compliance.

Raman offers guidance to both Canadian and international clients, including issuers, underwriters, and various stakeholders in the capital markets sector on transactions and regulatory issues. Her advisement spans to the boards of directors, public and private issuers, and financial professionals regarding capital market infrastructure and compliance, with a keen interest in fintech and market evolutions.

Her responsibilities extend to leading educational programs for practice group members on legal, regulatory, and market shifts through various learning initiatives. She ensures the dissemination of the firm’s collective legal wisdom and the latest industry trends to both colleagues and clients through publications and presentations.

Raman’s professional commitments include membership in the Law Society of Ontario, the Canadian Bar Association, and the American Bar Association. She has served on the Securities Advisory Committee of the Ontario Securities Commission and actively participates in Stikeman Elliott’s Diversity and Inclusion Committee in Toronto, as well as the firm’s Professional & Ethics Committee.

As one of the managing editors of the Corporate Governance Report, Raman contributes her knowledge on corporate governance to the Master of Finance Program at York University’s Schulich School of Business. She has also authored and delivered presentations on various capital markets-related subjects.

Before her tenure at Stikeman Elliott, Raman worked in corporate finance and securities at another leading Toronto law firm and completed her articling as a law clerk to the Chief Justice and Justices of the Court of Appeal for Ontario.

Raman’s educational background includes a B.A.S. from York University in 2000, a J.D. from the University of Detroit in 1997, and an LL.B. from the University of Windsor in 1997. Her admission to the Ontario Bar in 1999 marked the beginning of her distinguished legal career.
