Shawn Blundell

Shawn Blundell plays a key role as an associate within the realms of Capital Markets, Mergers & Acquisitions, and Securities. His legal practice delves into intricate capital market dealings, both domestic and international mergers and acquisitions, alongside broad corporate and commercial law issues.

In his capacity, Shawn has offered counsel to both underwriters and issuers in a slew of financing endeavors, covering IPOs, bought-deal offerings, MJDS transactions, along with investment grade and high-yield note issuances across various sectors such as technology, telecommunications, logistics, energy, automotive, and financial services.

His involvement extends to facilitating M&A transactions for both Canadian and U.S. companies as well as private equity funds, spanning industries like retail, technology, energy, hospitality, real estate, transportation, and manufacturing.

Among his recent contributions, Shawn represented Instant Brands Inc. and its affiliates in their Chapter 11 court-supervised sale and reorganization, and ATB Capital Markets Inc. in Canopy Growth Corporation’s US$150 million convertible debenture offering. He also advised a prominent Canadian satellite and telecommunications firm on its Up-C integration transaction with Loral Space and Communications, including its direct listing on both the TSX and Nasdaq.
