Irina Samborski

Irina Samborski serves as an associate within the distinguished global Private Client Services Group at Gowling WLG, where she navigates through intricate and delicate cases, specializing in trusts, estates, and litigation concerning fiduciary duties and capacity issues. Before her current focus, she tackled complex corporate and commercial litigation.

Her clientele spans both Canadian and international domains, offering guidance on a variety of contentious matters. Samborski's expertise includes aiding family businesses and private companies with succession planning, advising a diverse group of clients such as trust companies, government entities, estate beneficiaries, executors, trustees, and attorneys for property and personal care. She is skilled in managing estate administration, including probate processes, and litigating various estate and trust disputes.

As a trusted lawyer for LawPRO, she deals with professional negligence cases related to estate and trust matters, defending against solicitor negligence claims, collaborating with the Canada Revenue Agency for voluntary disclosures under the Income Tax Act, and correcting defects in wills and trusts.

Pursuing her Trust and Estate Practitioner (TEP) designation, Samborski is an active student member of the international Society of Trust and Estate Practitioners (STEP).

Beyond her professional commitments, Samborski is deeply involved in the legal community and broader societal activities. She earned her Bachelor of Arts degree with high distinction in international relations from the University of Toronto and is fluent in both Russian and English.
