Jeilah Chan

Jeilah Chan, serving as a partner in the Corporate Group, brings over two decades of expertise in the full spectrum of intellectual property matters and litigation involving patents, trademarks, contracts/licensing, trade secrets, and copyright disputes. She offers seasoned advice on IP issues within M&A transactions, joint ventures, and licensing agreements, in addition to guiding clients on advertising, labelling, IP protection, enforcement, commercialization, and branding strategies.

Jeilah has authored key sections on Intellectual Property Risk in "Directors’ Duties in Canada, 7th edition" published by Lexis Nexis, and contributed to WTR’s Trademarks Litigation Guide and the Best Practice in Litigation Series. Her role extends to educating future legal professionals as a guest lecturer at Osgoode Hall Law School and as a regular presenter on advocacy and IP topics.

Beyond her legal career, Jeilah is committed to fostering democracy and engagement through her board membership at The Samara Centre for Democracy. She also tackles inequalities and systemic barriers as part of the steering committee for the MINA Project, benefiting racialized and underserved Canadian youth.

Jeilah's educational background includes a BSc from the University of Toronto and an LL.B. from Osgoode Hall Law School. Since her bar admission in Ontario in 2003, Jeilah has been involved in significant cases, including AGF Management Limited’s strategic investment in Kensington Capital Partners Limited, MAV Beauty Brands Inc.’s asset sale to Nexus Capital Management LP, and representing Triton in its acquisition of Siemens Energy’s Trench business.
