Jessica Habib

Jessica's journey in the legal field is marked by her dynamic involvement in civil and commercial litigation, where she shines as an associate in our Litigation Group. Specializing in defending class actions, navigating securities litigation, and managing cross-border and international disputes, her expertise covers a broad spectrum. Jessica is well-versed in handling complex class action cases, international contractual disagreements, investment treaty arbitration, and regulatory scrutiny and enforcement actions.

Her academic foundation is as impressive as her legal practice, with dual J.D. degrees from the University of Windsor and the University of Detroit Mercy, where she graduated Magna Cum Laude. Jessica's intellectual pursuits began with a Master's and an Honors Bachelor's degree in English from Western University, demonstrating her proficiency in both French and English.

Jessica's legal career commenced at Osler, where she first joined as a summer student in 2017, subsequently completing her articling year with the firm in the 2018-2019 cycle. Beyond her professional endeavors, Jessica is committed to serving her community through pro bono work, notably as a volunteer duty counsel for Osler Pro Bono Law, illustrating her dedication to accessible legal services.

Her membership in the Law Society of Ontario, Ontario Bar Association, and Canadian Bar Association reflects her active engagement with the legal community. Jessica's scholarly contributions include her analysis on class proceeding standards in Canada, specifically the "Push and Pull in Class Proceeding Standards North of the Border," published in the Federation of Defense and Corporate Counsel's newsletter. This work, co-authored with Sonia Bjorkquist and Karin Sachar in March 2020, delves into the evolving landscape of Canadian class actions, underscoring her analytical prowess and thought leadership in the field.
