Kuljit Bhogal

Kuljit, an integral member of our Privacy and Data Management team, is proficient in handling a broad spectrum of issues related to privacy, cybersecurity, and technology law, including artificial intelligence and data governance. Licensed to practice in Ontario since 2017, she brings a wealth of knowledge from her education at the University of Windsor and the University of Waterloo.

Her role involves guiding clients through the intricacies of privacy compliance across provincial, federal, and international frameworks; crafting privacy policies; conducting privacy impact assessments; addressing data breaches; and navigating privacy considerations in corporate transactions.

As a Certified Information Privacy Professional for Canada (CIPP/C), Kuljit possesses a deep understanding of the privacy landscape across various Canadian jurisdictions, ensuring clients receive informed and strategic advice.

Before her tenure at Osler, Kuljit contributed her expertise in corporate/commercial and privacy law at a premier loyalty program company, enhancing her perspective on privacy issues within the commercial sector.

Kuljit actively shares her insights at major conferences, including the 2021 CAN-TECH Law Annual Conference, where she moderated discussions on technology-facilitated gender-based violence and the role of social media platforms in addressing or perpetuating this issue. She also chaired and moderated sessions at the CAN-TECH Law Spring Series, focusing on the legal challenges presented by COVID-19 in the technology and contracting realms.

Her commitment to the community is evident through her role as a board member for Lupus Ontario and as Co-Chair of the Women in Technology Committee for CAN-TECH, where she champions the advancement of women in the tech industry.

Kuljit's professional affiliations with the Law Society of Ontario, the International Association of Privacy Professionals, and the Ontario and Canadian Bar Associations, along with CAN-TECH, signify her active engagement with the legal community and her dedication to staying at the forefront of privacy and technology law.
